2000-2002 Traffic Counts for Knox County

The following traffic counts were collected by:

The Knoxville Knox County Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC)
The Knoxville Regional Transportation Planning Organization (TPO)
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT)
Knox County Engineering and Public Works
The City of Knoxville Traffic Engineering Department

Each Count Location is denoted by a Station Number, with the first letter indicating the responsible agency:
"C" indicates a City of Knoxville Traffic Engineering count location and is shown in red.
"M" indicates an MPC/TPO/Knox County Engineering count location and is shown in green.
"T" indicates a Tennessee Dept. of Transportation count location and is shown in blue.

Traffic count data are included for the years 2000-2002, with some count stations being counted on a rotating basis. The traffic count data are given in the standard "Average Daily Traffic" format, which represents the volume of traffic, in both directions, at a particular location on an average day during that particular year. The average traffic is computed by taking the raw traffic count data that is collected usually over a one to two day period and then adjusting it by factors to account for daily and seasonal variations.

More detailed information, including the directional, hourly, and 15-minute summaries of selected counts, is available from the MPC Transportation Section.
