The Metropolitan Planning Commission hopes that the  Neighborhood Organization Directory will accomplish three objectives:

  • to create an awareness of the number of neighborhood groups  which exist in our community and to make the information about these groups available,
  • to improve communication between neighborhood groups and the city and county agencies which seek their input, and
  • to improve communication among the neighborhood groups  themselves.

The Directory concentrates on neighborhood or subdivision  organizations which have been formed to protect or improve the  appearance or livability of their area. Specific organizations that  have an interest in the livability of the Knoxville community as a  whole are listed under "Special Interest Groups".

The organizations are grouped according to their location by city or county sector.  A sector map is provided for your convenience.

This Directory would not be possible without citizen input and cooperation. MPC thanks everyone who provided names and addresses. We also wish to thank the Council of West Knox County Homeowners for sharing their membership list with us. We hope you will call, fax, e-mail, or mail the names of current officers as they are elected. A form for this purpose is in the Directory. Your cooperation will foster continued citizen participation in the development of the Knoxville area.
